This Refund Policy applies to purchases made from House of Nile through houseofnile.com. By placing an order, you agree to this Refund Policy, our Shipping Policy, and our Terms of Service.
1. General Rule: No General Returns, Refunds, or Exchanges
All sales are final except as expressly stated in this Refund Policy or where required by applicable law.
House of Nile does not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges for:
- change of mind
- buyer’s remorse
- no longer wanting the item
- ordering the wrong item
- incorrect size, color, finish, or variant selected at checkout
- finding the item elsewhere
- price changes, promotions, or discounts offered after purchase
- personal preference or dissatisfaction with style
- minor variations in color, tone, texture, pattern, grain, finish, dimensions, or appearance
- differences caused by lighting, photography, screen settings, or natural material variation
- ordinary wear and tear
- delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, holidays, strikes, force majeure, or other events outside our control
- packages refused, abandoned, or undeliverable due to an incorrect or incomplete address entered by the customer
- items marked Final Sale, Clearance, Non-Returnable, Custom, Personalized, Made-to-Order, or Special Order
- gift cards
- used, washed, altered, assembled, installed, or damaged items not caused by House of Nile
- opened items not suitable for return for hygiene, health, or product-integrity reasons
2. Limited Eligibility for Review
House of Nile may review a claim only if one of the following applies:
- you received the wrong item;
- the item arrived with material shipping damage;
- the item arrived with a material manufacturing defect; or
- the package is confirmed by the carrier as lost in transit before delivery.
All claims are subject to verification by House of Nile.
3. Inspection and Claim Deadline
You must inspect your order immediately upon delivery.
To be eligible for review, any claim for a wrong item, shipping damage, material defect, missing component, or delivery issue must be submitted in writing to [support@houseofnile.com]within 48 hours of delivery.
Your claim must include:
- full name
- order number
- email address used at checkout
- description of the issue
- clear photos of the item
- clear photos of all packaging
- clear photos of the shipping label
- any other information reasonably requested by us
Failure to submit a complete claim within this timeframe may result in denial of the claim to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Return Authorization Required
Do not send any item back without prior written authorization from House of Nile.
Any return sent without authorization, any refused shipment, or any package returned to sender without our written approval may be rejected, refused, abandoned, or disposed of without refund, replacement, or credit, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If we authorize a return, you must follow all return instructions exactly, including carrier, label, packaging, deadline, and routing instructions.
5. Condition of Any Approved Return
Any item approved for return must be received in the condition required by House of Nile, which may include that the item be:
- unused
- unwashed
- unaltered
- unassembled
- uninstalled
- in original packaging
- complete with all parts, manuals, inserts, accessories, and protective materials
If a returned item does not meet the required condition, House of Nile may deny the claim or reduce the remedy, including issuing store credit only, a partial refund only, or no refund, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
6. Remedy Chosen by House of Nile
If a claim is approved, House of Nile may, at its option and subject to applicable law, choose the remedy it considers appropriate, including:
- replacement item
- replacement part or component
- returnless refund
- store credit
- partial refund
- refund to the original payment method
If a replacement or replacement part is offered and accepted, no additional refund or credit will be owed for the same issue.
7. Refund Timing
If House of Nile approves a refund, it will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Refund timing depends on your payment provider and financial institution.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, House of Nile may withhold any refund until:
- the approved return is received, if a return is required; and
- the item is inspected and verified.
Original shipping charges, expedited shipping charges, duties, customs charges, taxes, route protection fees, handling fees, and similar non-item charges are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
8. Return Shipping Costs and Deductions
Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless House of Nile shipped the wrong item or applicable law requires otherwise.
If a return is approved, any refund may be reduced by costs incurred by House of Nile, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including:
- original shipping charges
- return shipping charges
- carrier surcharges
- customs charges
- handling charges
- non-recoverable processing costs
- restocking fee of up to 20%
9. Delivered Packages
A package marked as delivered by the carrier to the address provided at checkout is considered delivered.
House of Nile is not responsible for theft, misdelivery after carrier confirmation, insecure delivery locations, mailroom handling, apartment office handling, parcel locker issues, or similar loss occurring after delivery is confirmed by the carrier, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If tracking shows delivered but you claim non-receipt, you must first contact the carrier and cooperate with any carrier investigation before House of Nile reviews the matter.
10. Sale, Clearance, and Promotional Items
Items purchased during a sale, markdown, promotion, or with a discount code may be designated as final sale and may not be eligible for refund, return, or exchange unless required by applicable law.
11. Custom, Personalized, and Special-Order Items
Custom, personalized, made-to-order, and special-order items are non-cancelable, non-returnable, and non-refundable once sourcing, production, packing, or fulfillment has begun, except where required by applicable law.
12. Cancellations and Order Changes
Cancellation or change requests are not guaranteed.
Orders may only be canceled or modified before processing begins and only if House of Nile is able to stop fulfillment. Once an order has entered processing, sourcing, packing, production, or shipment, it cannot be canceled or changed except at our discretion.
If we approve a cancellation as a courtesy, we may deduct any non-recoverable costs already incurred, where permitted by law.
13. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe there is an issue with your order, you agree to contact House of Nile first at [support@houseofnile.com] and provide a reasonable opportunity to review and attempt to resolve the matter.
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law or applicable payment-network rules.
14. International Orders
For international orders, duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage fees, and similar charges are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
If an international order is refused, abandoned, returned due to unpaid duties, or returned due to local import restrictions, any refund may be denied or reduced by all shipping, return, customs, duty, handling, and other related costs, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15. Fraud Prevention and Abuse
House of Nile reserves the right to deny any claim that appears fraudulent, abusive, duplicative, unsupported, or inconsistent with the evidence provided, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We may request additional documentation, carrier confirmation, photo evidence, or identity/order verification before issuing any remedy.
16. Rights Under Applicable Law
Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, limits, or overrides any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
If mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction give you additional rights, those rights apply only to the extent required by law.
